Heart of Compassion was born out of Rebecca and John’s own personal experience. Over 10 years ago, they were in a situation where they needed help with necessities. They went everywhere to find help - the government, churches and community centers- but were always told to come back. It seemed that even though the places could help them right away, there was always a reason they didn't.
In 2019, knowing first hand how difficult it can be to find help, Rebecca and John decided to create a nonprofit that would reach people in need with essential non-perishable items in a safe place. They believed that good hygiene and basic cleaning products for a family home are essential to give one pride, wellness and ambition to go out and succeed. They wanted to provide these items at a safe place where they could go and get what they needed.
Heart of Compassion was born as an outreach program designed to provide basic essential non-food items needed to maintain personal health and a clean home. We offer the solution to churches and community centers in pockets of poverty. When an Outreach event is scheduled, we promote the host organization as a certified source backed by Heart of Compassion. During the events, relationships are established that can bring added resources to the participants to help them break the cycle of poverty.
